How to Get the Free LEGO Magazine for Kids (A Must in a Legoland Town)
There are few things more exciting to a kid than getting real mail with their name on it. Add LEGO to the mail piece and you have a full sprint to the mailbox.
This week, my girls got their latest issue of the LEGO Magazine, and the reaction reminded me why this has been on my list to share for a while. We live in a Legoland town. LEGO is practically a personality trait for many Carlsbad kids. And somehow, one of the best free things LEGO offers still flies under the radar for a lot of local families.
So consider this your sign. Here is everything you need to know.
What Is the LEGO Magazine?
The LEGO Magazine is a real, printed magazine that LEGO mails directly to your child five times a year. And it is completely free. No trial period, no credit card required, and even delivery is free.
Each issue is twenty something pages of screen-free fun, packed with:
Comics featuring your child's favorite LEGO sets and characters
Building ideas and creative challenges
Activities and games
Posters
Cool creations submitted by real kids around the world
That last one is my favorite part. Kids can submit photos of their own LEGO builds, and every issue features creations from little LEGO fans everywhere. If your child has ever proudly presented you with a masterpiece from the LEGO bin, this is their chance at published fame.
Who Can Sign Up?
Parents and guardians can sign up children between the ages of 5 and 9.
If your child is under 5, LEGO points families to their DUPLO site for age-appropriate fun. If your child is older than 9, LEGO recommends the LEGO Play app instead.
How to Sign Up (It Takes About Two Minutes)
The sign-up process is genuinely quick:
Log in to your LEGO account. If you do not have one, you can create one for free. The magazine is part of the LEGO Insiders membership program, which is also free to join.
Enter your details. You will add your address plus the name and age of the child you are subscribing for.
That is it. Check your confirmation email to see when your child's first issue will arrive.
One heads-up: issues go out quarterly, so depending on when you sign up, the first magazine may take a little while to show up. Your confirmation email will have the timing details. The anticipation is half the fun anyway.
You can sign up at LEGO.com under the LEGO Magazine section.
