Carlsbad Through a Local’s Eye: Elisa Snyder

Growing up in Carlsbad shaped who Elisa is today. A true local at heart, she’s someone who thrives outdoors, stays connected to the community, and has never needed a big-city rush to feel fulfilled. Her childhood was filled with beach days, swimming lessons at Monroe, and endless sports at Calavera Hills.

After graduating from Carlsbad High School, she headed north to Chico State, then spent time living up and down the coast from Dana Point to La Jolla, Pacific Beach, and Encinitas.

Eventually, Carlsbad called her back. This time for good.

Much of her professional career has been spent traveling the world, working in marketing for endurance events.

Seeing so many places only reinforced what she already knew. There is truly something special about Carlsbad.

Today, she lives here with her husband and works full-time as a marketing director in the aesthetics industry. Their days are happily routine in the best way. Wednesday farmers market stops, morning ocean walks, and sunsets whenever possible. It’s a rhythm rooted in gratitude and simple pleasures, and one she doesn’t take for granted.

We asked her to share the seven Carlsbad spots and routines she loves most right now.

Here are 7 Things Elisa Loves About Life in Carlsbad

Run or Walk the Carlsbad Boardwalk

It never gets old. The views are unmatched - and if you're lucky, you'll see dolphins, a seal or if you're really lucky, a whale!

Popular Nails

My go-to french mani and pedi place! The staff is so friendly and it's conveniently located in Carlsbad Village near shopping, food and the beach.

Jasmine Massage

After one session, you'll be hooked. Come in, relax and prepare to feel like a new person.

Knockout Pizza & Pizza Port

Tie between Knockout and Pizza Port. If you love a thin NY slice, hit up Knockout. If you want a larger beer selection and more room for kiddos, Pizza Port is your place (their crust is much fluffier) - both never disappoint!

Pure Taco

While there are SO many good spots in the village, this one is my current obsession. They have a global menu so there are some unique tacos like Pho Beef (try it, it's amazing) but my go-to is their classic fish taco.

The Coyote Bar & Grill

I celebrated my 21st birthday here and still come here for the good music, food and vibes.

Steady State Roasting

My husband and I are regulars and buy their beans for when we make coffee at home. Order The PSL (pancake syrup latte) half sweet, thank me later.
